Galashiels-based R. Mitchell (Glass) Ltd., Scotland’s longest established window, door and conservatory installer, has become one of the newest members of the Conservatory Outlet network of dealers.
Established in 1875, the company takes its name from founder Robert Mitchell, and has been serving the Scottish borders for more than 135 years. Unsurprisingly, Mitchell Glass is a household name in Galashiels and its long history is something that none of its competitors can match.
Since 1993 Mitchell Glass has been run by the husband and wide duo of Peter and Susan Roden, who made the decision to join Conservatory Outlet; the UK’s fastest growing network of conservatory, window and door installers.
Peter Roden, managing director, explained why he decided to change supplier: ‘To remain successful for so long you must, to some extent, forget about past success and concentrate on the here and now.’
In today’s market the Conservatory Outlet…
Continue To Full StoryConservatory Outlet’s main dealer site www.conservatoryoutletdealers.co.uk has been given a fresh new look to help the company attract further dealers to its burgeoning network and get closer to its target of achieving full UK coverage.
The new site, put together by web design specialists Motionlab Marketing, has been redesigned to bring it in line with the theme of its main retail site. It seeks to give any interested dealer the full Conservatory Outlet proposition, informing them of the significant benefits of signing up.
New content has also been added throughout the site and navigation has been made as simple as possible so that new and existing dealers can find information as and when they need it.
The Conservatory Outlet dealership accounts for over 50% of UK installers and currently has 15 dealers on board covering the length and breadth of the country, but rather than rest on their laurels, the…

Showcasing the very best in UPVC doors, composite doors and aluminium doors, the site launch comes soon after the company announced that they had struck a deal to become the latest home improvement company to join Conservatory Outlet’s growing network of dealers.
With over 25 years’ worth of experience in the industry, Hazlemere Window Company see the new site as an opportunity to demonstrate their continuing commitment towards expansion going forward.

Continue To Full StoryWakefield-based Conservatory Outlet and High Wycombe’s Hazlemere Window Company have joined forces in a deal that will enable the former to increase its presence in the South, and the latter – a successful aluminium fabricator – to increase its sales of UPVC products.
Established in 1985, Hazlemere is prominent in Buckinghamshire and is known even further afield for its work in the commercial sector, having manufactured aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling for more than 25 years.
UPVC is also a major part of Hazlemere’s business and, when looking for a new supplier, the board of directors were keen to find a partner that could not only manufacture products worthy of the Hazlemere brand, but also help them to increase sales in the domestic market.
Conservatory Outlet was the obvious choice. The fabricator, which serves a network of regional installers from across the UK, is well known for supporting its…
Continue To Full StoryConservatory Outlet has joined the elite list of window fabricators who are Energy Saving Trust Recommended by becoming a manufacturer member of the widely recognised scheme.
The accreditation means that both Conservatory Outlet and a range of its Synseal Synergy energy rated products are approved by the Energy Saving Trust; the UK’s leading impartial organisation which aims to help people save energy and reduce carbon emissions.
A number of Conservatory Outlet’s installer-customers have also followed suit and become Retail Members of the scheme, following a presentation given by Elaine Berry of the Energy Saving Trust at the Conservatory Outlet dealer conference in April.
Greg Kane, sales director of Conservatory Outlet, said: ‘Our production team have worked extremely hard to develop energy rated products that are among the best in the industry, so it’s important that these products are given the recognition that they deserve.’
Becoming Energy Saving Trust Recommended was…
Continue To Full StoryConservatory Outlet has listened to its network of dealers and incorporated Solidor composite doors into its product range, following the very positive reaction that the timber-core doors received at the Conservatory Outlet Dealer Conference in April.
Gareth Mobley, managing director of Solidor, was invited to the event to present the company’s wide range of solid core composite doors. This includes thirteen internal and external colours as well as the Italia Collection of contemporary door panel designs, and it proved to be an overwhelming success.
As installation companies look to harness the sales opportunities for composite doors, Solidor has been particularly successful with its second generation door. Its product has been developed over a number of years and is not a ‘me-too’ GRP door filled with foam, but a solid core door complete with a number of unique sales features.
The Solidor door range is fully recyclable, free…

Continue To Full StoryFourteen Conservatory Outlet dealers from across the UK were united under one roof as the fabricator hosted its 2011 Dealer Conference on Tuesday 12th April.
New and established customers alike gathered at Waterton Park Hotel in Wakefield for a day of presentations and discussions about how their supplier will ensure their success during a time when – according to Conservatory Outlet MD Matthew Glover – ‘there is bound to be casualties’ in the industry.
Since the last conference, held at the beginning of 2010, seven established and reputable installers have joined Conservatory Outlet; the UK’s fastest growing network of window, door and conservatory retailors.
Matthew Glover opened proceedings by telling the audience what they perhaps didn’t want to hear – that the market for windows, doors and conservatories continues to decline, that there is overcapacity at every stage of the supply chain, and that the good old days are not…
Continue To Full StoryBuckinghamshire-based Hazlemere Window Company has increased both its online and offline presence with a brand new retail website and 4,000 square foot extension of its pre-existing 4,000 square foot Wellington Road showroom.
Not content with doubling the size of its showroom to include revolutionary new products such as aluminium and UPVC orangeries and bi-folding doors, the company has also invested in a user-friendly, state-of-the-art website which gives internet-browsers a full overview of Hazlemere’s new range of UPVC windows, doors and conservatories.
The new site, www.hazlemerewindows.co.uk, will co-exist with Hazlemere’s existing site, www.hazlemere.co.uk, which will remain as an all-encompassing ‘group’ website and a valuable source of technical information for trade and commercial clients.
Similarly, the already-impressive Hazlemere showroom – situated on Cressex Business Park – has been enhanced to 8,000 square foot, with a further 4,000 square feet to cater for the company’s expanding product range.

Conservatory Outlet dealers experienced and unprecedented increase in the number of online enquiries for their products in January and February compared to the same time last year, despite reports that overall internet leads for conservatories were down by more than a quarter.
On average, members of the of the Conservatory Outlet network received 179% more internet leads than last year, with one regional installer recording a 344% improvement.
These results have been achieved during a time when internet searches for the phrases ‘conservatory’ and ‘conservatories’ have declined, as well as online enquiries for these products which are reported to have fallen by 27% in just 12 months.
Matthew Glover, Conservatory Outlet MD, attributes this success to a series of website re-designs that have taken place across the network in recent months, as well as the continual investment to maintain and improve search engine rankings.
‘Despite the slump in online traffic…
