West Yorkshire Windows Light Up Local Man’s Life

Author: Ben  |  Leave a Comment >>

West Yorkshire Windows, Conservatory Outlet and Custom Glass collectively came to the rescue of a 91-year-old man who had been without windows in the front of his house for almost two years.

The man’s house in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, had been subject to continued vandalism by youths from the area. When the single glazed windows at the front of the house were smashed in 2010, the local victim support charity were only able to board the windows up, leaving the living room, main bedroom and bathroom with no natural light.

Following further vandalism at the property earlier this year, PC Chris Schofield of West Yorkshire Police decided to go beyond the call of duty by appealing to local businesses that could potentially help to repair the victim’s home and improve the quality of his life.

‘It seemed that the young people in the area thought it was ok to vandalise…

Author: Conservatory Outlet Team  |  Leave a Comment >>

This charity is involved with education, healthcare, and a real emphasis on environmental projects in Malawi, Africa.

Ripple Africa Charity

Since 2006, Ripple Africa has helped 176 tree nurseries plant over 3 million trees.  Conservatory Outlet has now agreed to fund 20 of these tree nurseries which equates to a minimum of 72,000 trees to be planted every year.  This equates to one tree for every window frame or door produced in our factory or at least fifty trees planted for every conservatory or orangery installed by our dealers.

Trees in Malawi are being cut down at an alarming rate. An area of forest the size of a football pitch is cut down every 10 minutes. This tree planting project is centred in Nkhata Bay District, Malawi, Africa, an area of 4,000 sq.km which is about the size of Kent.

West Yorkshire Windows & Conservatory Outlet Help Noel Edmonds Turn A Dream Into Reality

Author: Conservatory Outlet Team  |  Leave a Comment >>

Conservatory Outlet dealer West Yorkshire Windows recently starred in a primetime treat on Sky1 – Noel’s Christmas Presents, which is reported to be the most viewed show on Sky TV. The leading retail window company was called in by the shows’ producers to provide and build a conservatory for tireless charity worker Valerie Lepedat.

Seven years ago Valerie established a charity to help people who were suffering from the effects of chemotherapy but today, Valerie is terminally ill with breast cancer herself. Noel’s Christmas Presents was created to reward people like Valerie, by presenting them with gifts for deserving people that they could otherwise simply not receive.

The team behind the popular TV show discovered that Valerie’s charity, Aurora, is based in a building too small for its needs, and that Valerie had expressed a desire for it to be extended with a conservatory. West Yorkshire…

Conservatory Outlet Dealers Accept Glasstalk Challenge and Join the GGF

Author: Conservatory Outlet Team  |  Leave a Comment >>

One of the items on the GlassTalk programme last March was for the GGF’s Ian Chisholm to convince Conservatory Outlet dealer West Yorkshire Windows and the main Conservatory Outlet to join up if they found the arguments to be compelling enough. Unfortunately the opportunity for what would have been a highly public debate – and commitment or rejection depending on how the discussions went – was lost when time ran out.

Nonetheless  Andrew Glover, Managing Director of West Yorkshire Windows and Matthew Glover, Managing Director of Conservatory Outlet took the challenge, looked closely at what membership of the GGF could offer – and promptly committed themselves to join!

The brothers, co-organisers of GlassTalk (http://www.glasstalk.co.uk), the highly successful event launched to provide a networking event in March when Glassex was postponed, have very successful businesses and a reputation for being at the cutting edge of window and conservatory retail sales,…
